Very close from Ria Formosa, which is the very spectaculars lagoon landscape in the nature reserve, where Contrabaixo is located. It is a very appealing holiday house, brilliant for a peaceful and relaxed holiday stay. Contrabaixo means string bass, which is the instrument, the landlord plays professionally. So it is obviously, it is a place with a great inspiration aura. The path is ending in a blind alley to reach your solitary holiday house, after passing the port, you are entering the Mediterranean well tended garden. Old pine- and palm-trees and a large number in typically Portuguese plants are growing very splendid there. Contrabaixo is right in the middle of the land, surrounded by three sides only by pure nature and the forth side is going to the unique neighbour, which is protected by a high wall. Various beautifully spots to choose, sunny or shady, around the house, the most popular place might be the little roof terrace upstairs. Here you can sit and sit and watch the tides all day long and savour your 180° sea view over the lagoon!

This holiday house is in Portuguese-rustic style, decorated with personally details and nice pictures and drawings on the walls. More than just one window in each room offers a wonderful view directly into the nature. Three bedrooms and two modern bathrooms provided space up to 5 persons. The bedrooms have air conditioning units that can be used for heating and cooling - they are charged extra if used. Living room and kitchen are the main parts for communication and feeling comfortable. During cooler evenings, there is a powerful wood burner installed and also a central heating with gas. Down here are the sunny summer days are predominantly, so that is why perhaps the outdoor shower, barbecue and outdoor kitchen, might be much more important to mention. The rooms inside are most of the summer only to rock somebody to sleep! Just a few meters walking and than you are in one of the most beautifully villages of the Eastern Algarve. The bay of Arroteia with its such colourfully fishing boats, is still a little secret down here. When the low tide is you can do a long walk through the tide lands, discover a great species of birds, crabs and locals, who are collecting clams. If you reach the tiny channel and swim through, could even enjoy a fresh bath in the Atlantic on the other side of the dunes. 6 hours later (so, not forget to keep an eye on your watch!), the lagoon looks like a huge lake than and the water rises up to the bank and you could now also swim into, too.
